Dear Parents, March 13, 2020
In light of the school closures after March Break students are encouraged to
practice skills at home over the next few weeks. Please visit any of our online platforms:

ON THE BLOG: I have a wide variety of Math and Science wonder links that students can
use at home to explore their inquiries or continue to practice their skills that they’ve
learned in class. A few students have taken upon themselves to explore their own inquiries
at home by creating a Google Slide Deck and sharing it with me. I have also posted links to
class work we have done in class, including a working PADLET that students can use to
share what they wonder or have learned about structures in Science or Math so far.
Here are some educational app and website recommendations.
Many can be found on the student portal:
There are many other ways to practice skills with your children over the break.
We encourage reading books daily both independently and with a parent on
Raz Kids or any other book of choice.
SCIENCE: A reminder that students should return to school with completed research
for their famous structures assignment and may continue to look for cool facts to include
for their final project over the break.
MATH: When we return from the break, students will have a brief review of 3D shapes,
before our final assessment on Geometry. The next unit of math that we will be
starting once students return is Multiplication followed by Money.
Yours in Education,
Mrs. Ciampa
